Javier,

OK, I'm a convert. Now, what is the best approach to switching to
single quotes?

Bernie:
I finally bit the bullet and converted all my apps. to single
quote, % and _. The reason is that if you want to have true
ODBC compatibility these are the standard settings. My
application will need to be interfaced with a Geographic
Information System (GIS) and this is what other ODBC compliant
software use. This may also be a requirement for Tango.

Bill,
I've got a cold so that's why I inadverntly used the = in
checking for null, first time I've ever done that, honest. But
I still needed to set eqnull on. There was a big discussion on
eqnull a while back but I never found a need for it til now.

Will 7.0 ignore double quotes? or why did u suggest I start
using single quotes. I've got a lot of legacy systems out
there and I just kept sticking with dubl. Also, I hate using %
and _ -- it just looks strange to me. Give me good ol * and ?
It's hard teaching an old dog new tricks.

Bernie

P.S. sure wish I had a copy of 7.0 but I can't afford the
time and cost to go to Pitt again. (stock market is in the
pits -- I even had to settle for Buick when I really wanted the CTS)
