OK, here's a very bad workaround visually but it might work technically.

If you have anything common to the headers put this on your rotated text
label.  On the first label, add an asterix, the second one two asterix,
etc...  Then have a legend area where you print the full name of the header
text based on your variables.  Like this:

Pretend these are vertical: Deposits*; Withdrawals**; Balance***
Legend:  *Deposits First Quarter 2004
        **Withdrawals First Quarter 2004
       ***Balance End of First Quarter 2004

Well, you get the idea...
