OK, here's another ugly solution...

Using your variables: The F is lined up with the 1, the S with 2, the T with
the 3 and the F with the 4.

First Quarter
          Second Quarter
                    Third Quarter
                              Fourth Quarter
1,500     2,000     3,000     4,000

Another option: Using your variable label, use the smallest font and
wordwrap so that the text will stack up vertically:
