Patrick-  I too hear you on the "gofast" mindset.  Just tell yourself
that those hardmen racers that inspired you probably rode 50-60" fixed
gears for winter training, to develop their "souplesse."  So it's like
you're riding a hardman winter training bike...all the time.

At least that's what I tell myself.
