I use a Wald on Mark's rack on the front daily, and it's zip-tied on. I used to put it on the back and remove it on the weekends, but finally moved it to the front and secured it there nicely with about six or eight zips and the intent to leave it. It's pretty solid, but would require a blanket for canine comfort.
