A voice to the contrary: I may get custom riding pants made, and if I do,
mine will have rear pockets, zippered or buttoned, and no side pockets. I
can put a modest bunch of keys in a rear pocket, where they will be wholly
unobtrusive while I ride; but if I put anything more than a
business-card-sized wallet in side pockets, it bounces annoyingly as I
pedal.

I see that the Reign knickers have rear pockets, but not secured. One think
I like about my Endura pants and Rapha shorts is that they have 2 zippered
or buttoned rear pockets; their side slash pockets are handy for
temporarily stuffing something while you temporarily need both hands, but I
don't use them for carrying anything of significant weight or bulk while I
ride.
