Tom, I second Bill’s advice. I asked Grant if I ordered a custom for my fixed gear bikepacking, how close would it be to a Boots. He laughed and said: “I wish everyone who wanted a custom would start by asking me that.” Excepting the dropout swat to horizontal, 98-100% was his answer. I’m not in a position to get a custom yet, but I may since the dropout thing couldn’t happen, but I have every confidence that if I got the Boots he would be exactly right that it is the bike for me.
