The Cork Berthoud saddles are tanned with a natural process, so every one looks different. Maybe I got lucky, but mine looks rather nice in my eye anyway. The plastic back allows for additional flex, thus the added comfort. I've had B-17s and find the Berthoud to be more comfortable.
