9 speed chains are in fact narrower than 8 which in turn was narrower than the old 7 (although 8 is the new 7 as far as chains go) which in turn was narrower than the old 5/6, but in fact 9 speed chains work perfectly well on 8-speed rings and cranks (I have several bikes set up that way) and definitely work just fine on the Sugino XD-2 crank. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
