I have the Granola bars on my Fargo and while I've ridden it mainly
off-road (nothing rowdy), I've been on 2+ hr road rides and found it to be
fine. I think it's more about whether the bar is a good fit for you, on
your particular bike, and have it dialled in as best as possible, and then
the bar is fine road or off-road. I have narrow shoulders and don't find
the Granola to be too wide. I position my hands anywhere from all the way
back, to rest on the brake levers. I don't like reaching all the way
forward on the front of the bar. I tried Albatross bars and couldn't get
them to feel comfortable. I still have them though and will experiment
some time in the future to see if I can get them dialled.
