I do this too but more as a go/no go check. I find that JB greens are pretty forgiving in regards to inflation pressures. I pump em up to 55 front 65 rear. When the finger check indicates 'squishy' they are down to the low 40's. Ride fine anywhere in between low 40's up to about 70.
