I got my spring steel bar from a local spring manufacturer. I could not find
anywhere else that could supply it.

Subject: Re: [TANKS] Re: mounting torsion bars

this is just a quick doodle, but this is how i'm thinking of mounting the
moving end of the torsion bar

[cid:[email protected]]
the orange is the tank hull, the olive color is the wooden parts that will hold
the bushing for the torsion bar. i ran out to the hardware store (just up the
road) but forgot it was Sunday and they were closed. i'll b heading to home
depo this week (need another light so i can see what i'm doing on the one side
the garage at night - like using the sander) and will look at what bushings
they have and then run down the road from there to the metal shop to see how
much 1/4 rod is (and if they carry it).

and this is a basic drawing of the suspension arm that will attach to the
torsion bar and be locked in place by a bolt going through the cut end of the
arm, tightening it in place onto the bar. the other hole is where the road
wheels will bolt onto
