If you are unsure which track type to build, The roller chain setup is
the most simple and straight forward. Its also is expensive, but easy
usualy is.
It's hard to imagine how to fasten cleats to v belts securely, or keep
them straight and not bunching or twisting. But I love to be proven
wrong with things like that. Good luck.
Myself tho, I live in the Vegas dessert and imagine that anything but
a cog driven Tying treadmill belt would just dig into the soft sand
and bog down. So gone with cog driven belt track to "float" over the
shifty terrain.
A grass playing field around here would be near impossible to find
with out trespassing in the wee hours to perform unsanctioned night op
scenerios (The Bums at Sunset Park would enjoy the show I imagine).
