When I bought my DX5e from Robot Marketplace I got the optional BR6000 receiver because the AR versions are for airplanes (they hold the last setting if signal is lost). The BR series shuts down all inputs if signal is lost (good for tanks so they stop moving and firing). The DX5e doesn't come with any servos or battery pack for the receiver. I went to Radio Shack and picked up a simple AA 4 battery holder that had an on/off switch on the case. I think it was like $2.00. You don't need to use Spektrum servos. Any servo will work. I used a Hobbico CS-80 1/4 scale servo for my elevate, but it draws more power than the receiver can provide. It comes with a "Y" cable that allows you to add a direct battery feed to it. I use normal non-recharable AA batteries. You could use rechargable ones if you like from any hardware store or Walmart that are AA. Sometimes you can find a value pack that comes with a charger.
