Is it e1k <--> e1k via cross cable or switch? Some older e1000
driver buffers don't handle cross cables very well. You might get
on sf.net/projects/e1000 and build the newest module. Of course if
there is some other network/router/internet between those two
systems, the problem could be there too.
There is a switch between the two servers. Rsync never fails though?
It seems to happen at an hour stroke - say 12.04 PM 6.08 PM and so
forth. I was wondering if this could happen in conjunction with a
cron job being run. If load is high or something? Or could this
happen if ntp changes the time on the server being backed up?
