I actually made contact with one of these crooks. Their initial email looked convincing enough because it asked for specific number and model of panel. After a phone call and a couple of follow up emails, I became suspicious and contacted the owner of the credit card that they had supplied. He had no idea the credit card had been compromised and was grateful I checked with him. He called the police and credit card company and nobody wanted to do anything.
