As a Generac dealer, I would say the right answer is "No". As in, don't use a Powerpact generator as a two wire start generator. The Powerpact are a glorified portable in a box. The Powerpact has to have constant power to maintain the battery and electronics. The generator powers the load center transfer mechanism. You can use a Guardian as a two wire start unit if you provide a 120V T1 for battery charging, but the Evolution controller has to be configured as two wire start. I do not believe the Powerpact has that feature as it does not have a configurable controller. Also, it invalidates the warranty. And, if you rig a relay and someone gets electrocuted, it's on you. Sometimes the best answer is no, you need to trade up to a better generator.
