That would make our lives entirely too easy Jason... ;p

But seriously, there is a lot in the solar industry that could benefit from
some standards rather than proprietary setups.  I understand why
manufacturers do that, because it pushes customers to use all their
products, instead of mix and match.  Plus, to some extent it gives more
flexibility in design because they can make it do whatever they want
instead of having to fit in a format that may or may not be best for their
setup.  But... it really would make our lives easier in working on legacy
systems as different manufacturers come in and out, vs having everything
proprietary, and also obsolete, trying to find new old stock on ebay to
repair old systems....

I truly wish inverter and battery manufacturers would come up with a
standard. Like an OBD II thing. They could have standard registers and then
manufacturer specific codes.

Can't we all just get along? 🥺
