I can see that you haven't been using version control on a team project. Every version of RB has had problems with external items. RB 5.5.5 stored the selection for every method in the xml so it was complicated to do diffs and without being careful you committed non-functional changes. With RB 2005 the selection information was removed but the xml for windows isn't stable.
