Because I gave an example. Sure, for agame you could do that. My original example was where I want to generically add shortcut keys, and there I'd have to know the mappings with modifiers, which is not possible with KeyName(). And I've run into other cases where I needed that, too. And the solution to offer the user a dialog for this is only a work-around where it should not be necessary if the app could do it generically. I mean - just look at the RB IDE! Do they offer a dialog to define your own shortcuts? No! Yet, they've added shortcuts I cannot press on my German keyboard because of the weird combinations they require and are not possible on my kbd. And since RB has not offered a kbd shortcuts setting dialog for the past 5 years, they're not likely to start that tomorrow. But if they'd just use a proper scancode+modifier-to-character mapping to fill their menus, no such setting dialog would be necessary, yet it would work on all keyboards! Agreeable?
