When I see a $7 app I think its going to be crap and have terrible
support.

I haven't found any relationship between the price and crap
program/ terrible support categories. I have purchased $80
programs that turn out to be crap but have great support,
$300 programs that are great but riddled with bugs/support
issues and $7 programs that are just fantastic in both
aspects. And everything in between.

I have paid for expensive, crappy programs too. But much of the computer industry that legitimizes a program (unless its an advocate for the cheap but useful) or sells software will be disposed to overlooking it for what
appears to be a more expensive and better supported product.

Perhaps from a developer view point. However, with the clients I have dealt with (mostly lawyers), the criteria is completely different. They are extremely price orientated but don't give a fig about support. I have NO idea why but they "live long and prosper" so they can't be all wrong.
