Well, I guess it's about time for us as a group to really let RB know this is not acceptable, whether it is here on the list or in Feedback or wherever. I've used RB for years and have seen it grow and get slower, but NOT even close to this. Add no code and the project GROWS? At that rate, my project will be 100MEG in nothing flat, as it is growing 100k every time I save it. And the file size grew 9MB in just a few days. So we're left with 5.5 that they obsoleted?

I am amazed that people are not screaming about this...I am...and I will continue to...after all, they got my 400 bucks...and now they're going to make us buy updates 6 months at a time. This is rediculous.

Are there RB2006r1 users who have had this problem and found the

I'm sure it's not our fault, nor yours.

Are there things I can do to try to improve things?

That appears out of our control as well. We've reported it and that's
all we can do, it seems.

(rant follows)

I've seen RB grow bigger and slower ever since its beginnings.
I only found one of them justifiable: When the debugging procedure
switched from running the debugged app in the IDE's process to
a separate process. This improved debugging reliability but did
necessitate building the app as a executable file and launching
it. This made the debug process much slower, but it gave us
better debugging in return.

All the other things, though, such as the slow 200x IDE (due to
it being written in the slower RB code now), the slower compiler
and the huge generated apps are all under direct control of RS
and could all be avoided if more attention would be paid to it.

But it didn't ever happen, and I'm not expecting it to change much
unless a much bigger crowd gets upset and tells RS to do something
about this situation.

(I actually had a talk with Geoff a few years ago when I offered to
write a 3rd party optimizing linker to make the apps substantially
smaller - I needed some support from RB for this, though, but
Geoff denied my request, claiming that RB would solve this in a
few months anyways. Can't imagine what he had in mind, because
I've never seen the size get smaller the way I had intended)
