Not quite true. With VNC, you have to set up port forwarding on the server side, which makes interactive screen sharing difficult if you are trying to share screens with someone who doesn't want to do the setup. When I help someone, I sometimes like to look at their screen and then let them look at mine. Your requirements may be different ;-).
