Certainly.
It still could pose problems for all in the RB camp that don't have
UB
versions.
Another thing that I've noticed within the past couple weeks is that
many
non-UB apps are being dropped by Apple in their downloads section
(http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/). I've had all of my apps
listed in
there for years, and within the past couple weeks they've mysteriously
disappeared. The only reason I can think of this is that they're not
UB's,
the timing is way too obvious for anything else that I can imagine.
Anyone else notice this?
Mine was delisted as well.
Sounds like Apple is getting pretty aggressive with non-UB applications.
Yep, looks like all but two of my programs have vanished now as well,
and I am sure they just haven't gotten around to them yet. Wonderful.
REALWonderful.
RS has *really* dropped the ball on this one, esp if the end of the
year is the real release date for a version of RB capable of
producing Universal Binaries. This is completely inexcusable. Does
anyone at RS have a clue as to how much of a disaster the inability
of RB to produce Universal Binaries is? This isn't a joke, this is a
serious problem. Actually, this is a disaster which is going to cost
me, and well as lots of other developers who use RB, thousands,
perhaps tens of thousands of dollars each in lost sales.
Producing Universal Binaries has got to become the #1 development
effort for RB right now, with all efforts directed towards it.
Having to wait 9 months (or more) for the ability to produce
Universal Binaries could be fatal to my business.
Looks like I need to do some *serious* thinking this weekend about my
software development plans.
