The ODBC ones work and do support mySQL 5 which the plugin doesn't
And, knowing how to use a stick to start a fire is a good thing if
your lighter is broken or doesn't work.
At least I know I can stay warm whether I have a lighter or not.
Yes, but you should only use it if you really really really need to
survive. Same goes for using ODBC to access MySQL, you lose speed,
and lots of it when comparing it to a native driver (if it's well
written of course).
