Just test your hardware using the built-in terminal emulator applet called 'Hyperterminal', available in the Accessories/Communications folder. Set up the com port, baud rate and other parameters just as you do in your RB App, connect the cable, and use the keyboard to send and the screen to watch received characters. If you can't get Hyperterminal to work, you're wasting your time in RB. By the way, it's sometimes useful to know that CR is CTRL-M and LF is CTRL-J. Paul Mathews
