Hi all,

since early April, I have troubles using internet with my PowerBook (Alu 15", 1.5GHz, Mac OS X 10.3.9 xyz; I installed Mac OS X 10.4.x because of that, until 10.4.7).

Since Monday 18:00 GMT, I am making intensive downloads with both laptop, using a WiFi connexion (AirPort 'g' and LinkSys PCMCIA 'g').

On the Windows side, I can (only one file) get 90 KB/sec to 99 KB/ sec where on the PowerBook, I never get more than a mere 4x KB/sec (45 KB/sec was the maxspeed that I saw).

Did you get similar behavior ?

TIA,

Emile

Hi,
I have had some similar, on Windows XP it was much faster .... (check the speed with a software) On the Mac we changed from a Motorola broadband modem to an older one, just to check ... YES now it was the same speed! And we found also that you could change the settings on the Mac ... and still use the Motorola modem.
(Motorola do not worked with 'Automatic' settings on the Mac)
OS X 10.4 and Windows XP
