I'm not sure it's a REALbasic issue, per se. It could very well be
my code.
I can still report it to EFI (maker of Fiery RIPs), and probably
will, but I
think that might be barking up the wrong tree as it does seem
something
specific to Print Window (which just happens to be REALbasic-based).
I should probably say that the print jobs Print Window sends are all
Vector-based, using StringShapes, Group2Ds, etc. Maybe something
specific
to those classes?
You could try capturing the post script that is sent to the RIP and
see if there is anything unusual in it. You could also try manually
editing the resulting post script to see if you can make the error
occur with a specific command. Maybe try reducing the objects you
send to print and see if that makes any difference. This will
probably be a tedious process so it kind of depends on how bad you
want to know what the problem is. Maybe Fiery tech support can give
you a way to get better error reporting.
Good Luck,
Kevin
