The public mailing lists are user mailing lists, not REAL Software support. If you feel there is a bug, please report it via the feedback system. If it's just mentioned on the mailing lists, it will be easily forgotten.
However, I should also note that the reason I didn't respond is because our existing database plugins (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ODBC, etc) did not require modification to work in 2005/2006. But perhaps your plugin is doing something that our plugins didn't do -- in which case a bug report would help get those details to us.
