I don't understand why you have to develop a separate
installer program for your programs for distributing
them on M$ Windozzz?
Quite often, you need to perform steps beyond simply copying your
application onto the system - setup folder hierarchies, special file/
folder permissions, make changes depending on whether you're on 10.3
vs. 10.4 or PowerPC vs. Intel or allow the user to install only
subsets of the data that is included with your app. This can go on
for pages :) .
