As I have written on this list previously, I too have had far too many crashes in R4 to make it usable. So much so that I very quickly went back to working with R3. I am now trying to remove the few plugin dependencies from my current project to see if that makes a difference in R4's stability (although based on Scott's comment in this thread I am not holding up much hope for that).
Since some people are reporting great success and stability with R4, I'm wondering if there is something in common with the systems or projects of those of us who are having stability problems that would help RS track down the problem. After all, if they can't reproduce any such crashed, we can hardly expect them to release a bug fix. I'll get the ball rolling with a brief description of my system to see if that rings any bells with those experiencing multiple crashes per day. I'm working on a Mac G4 Quicksilver that has been upgraded to dual 1.8 MHz processors, 1 GB RAM, OS X 10.4.8 (and also experienced problems in 10.4.7 before updating my system). Anybody else want to chime in? I suspect it has more to do with the nature of one's project(s), but I figure this is at least a starting point. On 10/10/06, Joseph Sharp <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I have also experienced an unacceptable number of crashes. R4 is VERY unstable. For me, it seems to crash after I close a tab, then attempt to do something else. We REALLY need a interim bug fix, or r5 should be made available really fast. -- Joseph Sharp On Oct 10, 2006, at 10:10 AM, Dr. Scott Steinman wrote: > I'm actually hoping for an interim release with some bug fixes. > I've had more crashes from RB with the latest release than ever > before — several a day!
