Personally, I still think 5.5.5 was the best that RS ever released. From the
2005 series, there was only one release I found 'usable'. Ditto for 2006,
which is r3. But for projects that can do without the 2k-features, I will
happily use 5.5.5.

I don't think it's _that_ bad; in fact it's the first version since
5.5.5 that I've found usable. The crashes are a bit of a worry but
saving often is probably wise anyway. Personally, I think the 'rapid
release program' is actually a 'perpetual beta program' but some
folks love it so we'll just have to hope for interim bug fixes.
