Yes, let's take the language upscale if we're going to propose
changes.
Focusing on rudimentary things like increment operators and
function pointers is like living in the stone age, programming in
ASM and allocating variables to registers. Modern languages allow
us to move beyond those issues to architectural things which are
more important and can make a bigger difference.
eg Adding the dictionary class to RB made a much bigger difference
to RB's abilities than an optimized Increment ever could hope to.
Templates or a generalized List class are two of my favorite wishes.
Just a review of Java'sframeworks raise a lot of potential additions
never mind whats in Ruby, C++, etc etc
