I have an RB application that uses Vserver. It's just a simple multi-user
application that helps manage contacts and tasks, and it also provides
limited note sharing here on my local network. Not a big deal.

Earlier this year, I was implementing some enhancements to the application
while also upgrading to a newer version of Vserver.

I started testing the upgrade and was dismayed to discover the application's
interaction with Vserver to be *much* more sluggish than the prior version
of Vserver. It was taking a full second or two to perform queries that the
prior version of Vserver had been performing nearly instantaneously.

Mightily disappointed, I started stepping through the RB code to see if I
could speed things up some. I discovered that due to a simple programming
error in a loop, my application was accidentally submitting 30! queries at a
point where it was only supposed to submit 1!

Somehow, Vserver was able to return 30 separate recordsets so swiftly that
my app merely became "sluggish".

Although I'm delighted to promote vserver at every opportunity, there is no
need to take my word for it. The vServer/V4RB demo is pretty generous, and
you can see the performance for yourself if you are willing to take the time
to set up some good tests.
