Starting an independent list is NOT the answer. Sure, the existing members
may join up, but how will new members find it? The solution must involve
some level of support from Real Software.

Some time ago, I wrote a program called Y! Groups Extractor that enabled
users to download attachments from Yahoo! Groups postings without browsing
the e-mail. It worked well until Yahoo! killed the ability to attach files
to the posting, but I wonder how hard it would be to write a similar
forum-to-email bridge? The mailing list entries would be posted at the
forum, and the forum entries would be e-mailed to the mailing list.

I agree with Real that the content should be consolidated, I just don¹t
agree that forums are the way to do it.
