When they release a version of RB using cocoa, I don't think it will affect
you very much, since you will still see it through the "wrapper" of the RB
API and control set.

I wonder how hard it would be for someone, RS or other, to write a
windows/Linux Cocoa framework equivalent. If Cocoa really is that good an
engineered framework, maybe the better thing would be to allow RB developers
to code to that framework more directly. I would only want this approach
if an equivalent Cocoa framework "clone" was also written for the other
platforms. Although this could be done, no doubt the "fit" wouldn't be so
elegant - since one would be mating/shoehorning/wrapping/overriding a
framework designed around one OS into another - say Vista and Linux.

I have no idea how easily one could implement Cocoa on - say the .NET
framework, which will be it seems the MS approved API for some years to
come.

In short the biggest argument about going TRULY Cocoa ( as opposed to just
using the cocoa API to implement the RB framewosrk ) is the issue of
cross-platform. For me, that is the BIGGIE of RB.

Otherwise, if I were only interested in OSX apps I would have plumped for
Xcode+ Interface Builder + Cocoa, or if I were windows only based - I
would have stuck to VB.Net or C#.
