Corn Chowder

6 strips bacon, cut up
3 tbsp minced onion
2-1/2 c. diced potatoes (2 medium)
1 c. chopped celery, cabbage, carrots (mixed)
1 c. boiling water
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 14 to 15 oz. can cream style corn
2 c. milk

Fry bacon until brown. Add onion and cook until yellow. Add potatoes,
vegetables and water. Simmer 10 minutes. Add salt, pepper, corn and
milk. Bring just to a boil. Serve.
