the Canberra Times announced on its front page saturday the 20/02/99 a
competition to write the preamble. It goes something like this:
It is now declared that the Canberra Timees shall run a competition to
generate the best preamble, the conditions of which are as follows:
1. maximum 250 words. Entries to be recieved by Wednesday the 3rd of
March.
2. Prize: Dinner for 2(up to $150),Republic restuarant (constitutional
monarchists welcome)
3.The best 3 entries to be sent to the office of the Prime Minister and
the Leader of the Opposition.
4.Entries to: Premable, PO Box 7155, Canberra Mail Centre, 2610; Fax
62802282; or e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (from the
message field, no attachments).
5.A selection of entries will be published on the Letters page.
