Briam, I managed to read until the end of your post, but the testbed
is still on loading (Firefox 2 beta2 on Windows XP). I took a look at
the source and saw what you are implementing from scratch (why don't
you uses a library like dojo ?). Are you just polling for images or
also some metadata ? Ever thought about  HTTP Push approaches like
COMET to make it really flexible, interactive and broadcastable? What
do you think about a Firefox extension for audio recording, screen
capturing and rtmp upload ? It's hassle free to install,
crossplattform, you can learn form existing projects (openwengo,
allpeers), exposed XPCOMs can be accessed form websites via
javascript, the only disadvantage: it requires firefox.
