Actually I posted my problem some time ago and was unable to get a response.
I'll try again:

I have used a backpack external CDROM to install RedHat 4.2 four
separate times with no problems. I am trying to use the same drive to install
RedHat 5.0 on another pc. My problem is that even though I can run autoboot from
the
CD, when it gets to the point in the install where it asks what type of CDROM I
have and I tell it a backpack ,I get a message telling me that "the device was
not found anywhere on your system."

If I boot from a boot disk I get the same error.

Anyone got any ideas?
