I would go with the idea of challenge flags, maybe give each manager 1 or 2
challenges a game.

But what is really disheartening is that none of the other umpires would have
even questioned the call on the field. I mean, you have
4 guys watching that play, albeit none as close as Joyce. But still, you would
think that one of them might have gone over and said,
'You know from my angle he looked like he might have been out, nudge nudge,
wink wink'. Of course, I think that Joyce is the crew
chief, so that would probably have been tough for another ump to do that. But
part of their mentality is that they all support each other 110%,
regardless of whether the call is right or wrong. That is really the issue, in
my mind. They are more concerned with how they 'look' and not
necessarily with getting the call correct.

Just watched the replay. The reaction by the Cleveland hitter was interesting.
He knew he was out.

There has to be some replay. Challenge flags maybe but something.
Missing a perfect game by a full step just seems too silly not to have some
mechanism to overturn.

Having said that, I want a replay mechanism that doesn't slow the game down.
They need to get
games to be quicker not slower.
