Fielder would be fine with DH. And if Youk slows down, he might, or he could split time between first and DH to stay fresh. And I'm just using those two as examples. There are of course other good hitting 1B and DH.
I love Victor Martinez, and still loved him about six months ago when everyone was saying he couldn't catch anymore and the Sox had to bring in any Molina available and relegate Victor to DH or first. I just don't think he's a good value over four years. Then again, I didn't want to give extensions to Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek ...
