He doesn't believe that there is some inherent skill that makes a pitcher a
"closer".  He feels that the great closers of the moment were yesterday's
also-rans and will be tomorrow's also-rans.

Other than Mariano Rivera I can't think of one other pitcher that has been a
premier closer for more than a few years.

So I guess he doesn't respect closers.
