Hey Mike. Thanks for the response. I have the bulbs themselves covering the
length of the tank, but the light they cast actually goes front to back, out
of the sides of the bulb. I have the tips of the bulbs facing the left hand
side and the right hand side (2 bulbs) and the way MHs cast their light, it
mostly goes front to back. Not sure if you understood that from my first
message (I tend to over inform and cause confusion!). The only reflector I
am using right now is the hood. It is painted a glossy white. I don't know
if I could use a spider reflector in the hood, because it may interfere with
the VHOS. They are pretty close to the MH bulbs. Do you know what the
measurements on those reflectors are?
Thanks,
Shane C.

Shane,
The way you have them now, covering the length of the tank sounds
best to
me. What type of reflector setup are you using? Could you use
something
like the spider to help focus/disperse the light with your current
setup and
not get in the way of the VHO's? I'm using a PFO 24" parallel
reflector
with one MH and two VHO's. The curve in the reflector does a nice
job of
spreading the MH light over the entire tank.
