Andrew, do you know how many hermits you had in there? If so, and it was
only a few, you could do a crab count to determine if all are acounted for.
I would still be inclined to think it was a shedding, but have also seen
crabs kill each other for thier shells. On a good note, the crabs are alive
and not dying due to the copper. I will be curious to see how the copper
removing resins work for you.
