They also make mirrored acrylic that I know some ppl have used. Any
reflector is better than none, and I personally wouldnt risk glass mirror
being placed in the hood of my tank. I would go with the aluminum from HD or
something like that. You can even paint your hood white and get a decent
amount of reflected light from that.
