LPS: Frogspawn/Hammer/Torch/Open Brain SPS: Acropora/Pocillapora/Tubinaria/Closed Brain
The difference is that the SPS are rigid corals that do not move in the current. LPS are large polyped, jelly like corals that move a lot when current is blown on them. LPS take large prey items, SPS take tiny prey items. If you can see the mouth on the coral plainly, then chances are you are looking at an LPS.
