Sorry to miss this conversation til now. Have your friend check out an
awesome, Austin-based service called SnapPages.com that offers "website
creation for the rest of us" as their tag line states. I saw their demo at
SXSW and was very impressed.

I personally use custom WordPress/CMS installs and I'm sure a lot of
Refreshers might scoff at these types of services (Squarepace.com is
another), but for someone just getting into it and/or who simply doesn't
want to deal with cPanels or "5-minute installs" but still wants a stable
product with customizable design options, this might be exactly what he's
looking for.
