Welcome to Austin - I'm sure you will love it! As someone from Florida who migrated to Austin in the recent past - I concur that BBQ Pork is true BBQ. I usually don't say that aloud as it offends the natives. I miss Sonny's BBQ for sure. Fortunately, there are lots of good eats around town (various cuisine) and I've even developed a bit of a taste for that thing called Brisket.
BTW, you'll probably be missing some good Seafood soon - Eddie V's and Uchi have some good Seafood (I'd be cautious with any other possibilities).
