As an electronics reseller Amazon has really stepped it up in terms of creating some sort of wildcatter anarchy distribution model. Legitimate equipment manufacturers have to police for minimum advertised price violations. People talk about the internet or eBay or "the back of the magazine" historically but were reaching a point where reseller channels are a farce.
Sorry this isn't about sales tax. Some states charge a use tax. Apple once charged us tax for drop shipping to Michigan because there are apple stores in Michigan. If we would have had it shipped to us and then shipped out, no tax. Blah.
